Andrew Sarris

Andrew Sarris is the film critic for The Village Voice. A prolific writer, he has contributed to more than 100 publications in the U.S. and abroad, and has written numerous books about movies and the film industry. He has been credited (and blamed for) introducing the auteur theory in America. Sarris is also an associate professor of film at Columbia University and has taught at the School of Visual Arts, New York University and Yale University. He is a regular contributor to Video Review magazine. (1986)
